Madarao? or MadaPow!
Madarao ….. What, NO lift lines! Truly, this resort has always been very special to us at Action Snow Sports, and has becoming our favourite! So much so, that now after being fully approved by the resort management, we will not only be running our clinics from the resort but we will be opening the first English speaking Snow Sports School in the resort this coming season. It has some great black runs, steeps, awesome moguls including the best small bump run for teaching skiers the art of skiing moguls PLUS, it has an enormous tree skiing area which is allowed and encouraged here, and with an average snowfall of approx 11-13 mtrs per season Madarao is the place to go for JAPOW or should it be MadaPow!
It is also very central to other resorts, allowing us good access for day trips with easy driving.
The super fast Shinkansen, now goes to Iiyama (which is only 20 mins down the hill) making it really easy to get to this resort.
The Madarao Kogan Hotel’s buffet is to die for and Jazzy’s
and Rudolph’s restaurants are very inviting having wonderful mix of Japanese and Western fare and always a good place to chat with others about your triumphs of the day. A few beers, wines or Sake might go down well here.
Riding the single chair to the top of Mt Madarao gives you breathtaking 360 deg views, and on a clear day from the highest lifted point, this vista is being snapped up by every by camera!
You can see down to Joetsu City on the coast, Myoko in the back ground and if you turn your head you’ll see Nozawa and Shiga Kogan ski resorts. Need more info? contact us at http://www.actionsnowsports.com/ then catch more in the next blog, thanks for checking in with us!
